Bentley iTwin Capture
Air Inspect Australia uses Bentley’s iTwin Capture tools to transform reality-capture data into usable project outputs — from high-quality 3D reality models and orthophotos to structured extraction workflows and scalable delivery.

Why reality capture workflows matter?
The goal isn’t just a “nice 3D model.” It’s reducing uncertainty and enabling faster decisions — verify conditions, communicate clearly, and support design, planning, and delivery workflows.
Faster site understanding
Review conditions remotely to reduce site revisits and accelerate early-stage coordination.
Verification & measurement
Outputs can support clearance checks, constraint review, and documentation (project dependent).
Clear stakeholder alignment
Reality models are intuitive for technical and non-technical teams—reducing assumptions.
Repeatable delivery at scale
Consistent workflows for multi-site and multi-date capture programs.
iTwin Capture Modeler
Our primary platform for photogrammetry processing — producing high-quality reality outputs from UAV, DSLR, and ground imagery for construction, infrastructure, surveying, industrial sites, and asset owners.
High-quality 3D outputs
Reality meshes and context models for coordination and communication.
Repeatable workflows
Consistency across sites, teams, and capture cycles.
Project-ready deliverables
Outputs packaged to match your engineering/GIS toolchain.
Typical deliverables
- 3D textured reality mesh (site / corridor / asset)
- Orthophoto / orthomosaic
- Dense point cloud (where required)
- 3D context model for coordination and review
- Progress / change visualisation (multi-date capture)
iTwin Capture Manage & Extract
For larger programs, the workflow is about more than processing. Organising datasets, standardising delivery, and producing structured outputs can be just as important as the 3D model itself.
iTwin Capture Manage & Extract
Supports structured handling of reality-capture projects — especially when you have many datasets, sites, teams, or phases. It helps keep data organised for delivery, governance, and repeatable outcomes.
Focused on generating structured information from reality data — so outcomes can support analysis, reporting, and downstream tasks beyond visualisation alone.
- Project-scale organisation across sites and time
- More consistent packaging and handover
- Reduced friction when sharing and tracking datasets
- Transforms reality data into usable information
- Supports analytics and reporting workflows
- Helps standardise outputs across programs

iTwin Capture Modeler Flex
Modeler Flex introduces a more flexible workflow for reality modelling — enabling teams to prepare projects and then choose the most suitable processing path based on scale, security, and timeline.
Start & validate
Set up projects and validate datasets early, before committing to full processing.
Local, cloud or hybrid
Select the processing approach that best fits your constraints and delivery needs.
Modern delivery direction
Designed to support modern reality outputs and a workflow that can scale with project demands.
Frequently asked questions
What is Bentley iTwin Capture used for?
iTwin Capture tools support end-to-end reality capture outcomes—turning imagery and reality datasets into deliverables like reality meshes, orthophotos, and project-ready packages. We use the toolkit to help clients reduce uncertainty and make faster decisions.
What is the difference between Capture Modeler and Capture Manager & Extract?
- Modeler focuses on photogrammetry processing and producing reality outputs from imagery.
- Manage & Extract helps organise and package datasets at project scale, especially for multi-site programs and repeat deliveries.
- Manage & Extract supports producing structured outputs from reality data for analysis, reporting, and downstream workflows.
What is iTwin Capture Modeler Flex?
Modeler Flex is Bentley’s newer flexible workflow direction for reality modelling—supporting early project setup and allowing teams to choose processing approaches that fit project constraints (local, cloud, or hybrid). We can advise on best fit based on your requirements.
Do we need ground control points (GCPs)?
It depends on your accuracy requirements and intended use. If you need survey-grade outcomes or high confidence alignment, GCPs and/or checkpoints may be recommended. For visual context and general coordination, alternative approaches may be suitable.
What deliverables can you provide?
Common deliverables include 3D textured reality meshes, orthophotos/orthomosaics, and project-ready delivery packages. Where required, we can also produce dense 3D outputs and multi-date progress comparisons. Deliverables are tailored to your workflow and intended use.
What affects accuracy and output quality?
Output quality depends on capture quality (overlap, flight height, camera settings), site conditions (vegetation, reflective surfaces, low texture), and whether control/checkpoints are used. We’ll guide capture planning and processing settings to match the outcome you need.
Can you support multi-site or on-going capture programs?
Yes—repeatability and consistency are a key focus. We can structure delivery so outputs are comparable across sites and dates, and provide packaging/handover that suits multi-site programs.
How do we get started?
Share your goal (design context, reporting, verification, documentation), the site type, the capture method, and any accuracy expectations. We’ll recommend the workflow, capture approach, and deliverables—then provide a clear scope and timeline.
