Course: Master Aerial Surveying and Mapping
This course will teach attendees how to use relevant equipment and design programs for survey and mapping projects.
It will deliver the required understanding in applying core digital and spatial knowledge and skills from planning through to project management. Attendees will gain an appreciation of the importance of Remote Pilot Aircraft System (RPAS) operations to create efficient, optimal designs and asset solutions to assist in problem-solving.
This is intended for remote pilots who wish to gain a critical knowledge and understanding of using RPAS with surveying and mapping operations; those who are currently holding a RePL; those who are responsible for remote flight operations management within an organisation; or those looking to enhance their level of understanding of flight operations and operational risk in areas of survey and mapping.
Duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge in support of a wide range of digital and spatial knowledge, operational tasks, including risk management, crew coordination and training.
Individuals working at this level will apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement in a defined responsibility role in known or changing contexts within broad but established parameters.
This qualification is not currently a licensing requirement (by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). However, it will provide the skills and knowledge to perform the role.
