Due to exposure to weathering and external forces, solar panels are subject to deterioration and degradation, the obvious consequence is a severe drop in energy efficiency and worst can start a fire if left unchecked. By using drones fitted with a thermal imaging camera it can detect characteristics of the faults of the solar panel. It makes it a lot easier to find defects before the panels fail. This method removes human access of having to physically climb up and walk around the panels – human errors are reduced and the risks to life and injuries can be virtually reduced to zero.
