Youth Drone Program & STEM Learning and Development

Stem is a fundamental part of the Victorian Curriculum. This includes the learning areas of Mathematics, Science, Design and Technologies, Digital and Technologies, as well as cross-curricular capabilities such as ethical, critical and creative thinking.

Employers are seeking a workforce that thinks critically and creatively and solves complex problems. Whatever their future careers, a strong base of STEM knowledge and skills will equip all learners to engage in dynamic modern workplaces and society.

Development of STEM skills at all stages of life will also inspire curiosity and creativity and drive innovation and growth throughout our economy. Through an exciting and engaging STEM program, learners of all ages can acquire skills that will give them an edge – so they can be smarter and more innovative, and use new and emerging technologies to solve problems and extend their knowledge and understanding.

What our program provides

We aim to lift students’ proficiency in drone technology providing contemporary content knowledge in STEM subjects and the pedagogical skills to stimulate the students’ interest and learning.  Also to reduce the impact of disadvantage on achievements. By boosting all students’ achievement in STEM will make a strong contribution in reducing the impact of disadvantage on achievement.

Building Foundational Skills

Young children experience rapid brain development and acquire skills at a faster rate than at any other time in life. Using drones can assist in developing STEM skills in the early years can encourage children to feel positive and enthusiastic about STEM leading to interest and achievement later in life.
